Berlex was founded in 1970 by Thomas Bergendahl when he was 25 years old. Thomas happened to hit a road work lamp on the continent and was amazed by the good quality of the lamp. He contacted the American manufacturer, which leads to getting the right to sell the lamp in Sweden. Customers had not seen anything like it and sales eventually picked up.

1975 Mobile traffic signals
We started renting out mobile time-controlled traffic signals and in 1978 we started manufacturing our own traffic signals. Four years later, we introduce vehicle-controlled signals to the market. Now it´s the traffic that controls the flow of green and red light thanks to radar technology.
1983 Introducing the vertical panel barricade
We introduced the vertical panel barricade which became a national standard still in use today.
1986 Market´s first Mega board
Together with the Swedish Road Administration, we introduced the market's first Mega board. The purpose of the Mega board was to draw motorists' attention to the fact that the lane is changing.
1997 Recycing road signs
We are starting to recycle road signs. Instead of melting it down, we introduced a revolutionary concept where you use water to mill away the old reflex. The old sign became a new sign!
1998 Mobile steel barrier Mini-Guard
The first Mini-Guard barriers appears on the Swedish road network. Mini-Guard and Vario-Guard prove to be two good alternatives to the traditional concrete barriers. The steel barriers increase the efficiency of logistics: 2400 m on 12 trucks.
2000 Scorpion TMA
We introduce Truck Mounted Attenuator Scorpion, the first TMA on the Swedish market that lives up to the new standard NCHRPR-350 that still applies today. We applied for permission to mount our TMA on a tractor. The application was submitted to the Swedish Road Administration in 2000 and was approved by the Swedish Transport Administration in 2010. 2005 Multifas
Multi-phase is introduced and our traffic signals become even smarter. Instead of only being able to use two signals, we can now control up to eight signals at the same time.
2006 Scorpion TMA on wheels
We are the first to present the TMA trailer. A flexible alternative when you don´t want to mount a fixed TMA on your vehicle. Just connect the trailer and roll out on the road.
2010 We are open for business in Stockholm!
Berlex starts in earnest in Stockholm and opens the gates to the new premises on
Dumpervägen in the Länna industrial area south of Stockholm.
2015 Our new office in Rollsbo is ready for business
We are building new premises in Rollsbo industrial area located in kungälv outside Gothenburg.
